He has lead multiple teams to various World Series' and championships, including West Virginia State University’s first conference championship in 2008.
Kris and Diana are both former NCAA softball players who graduated from West Virginia University in 2011. During their collegiate careers at West Virginia State University (2005-2009), they were part of State's first Conference Championship team (2008) and were the recipients of various awards.
Prior to their college careers, Diana went to Saint Albans HS and Kris went to South Charleston HS where they were both all-conference and all-state players (Diana - pitcher; Kris - catcher).
In addition, Kris and Diana played on various travel teams which won various championships and had multiple World Series appearances. In 2005, 2006, and 2007, they played in the Big League World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan where they represented West Virginia and the South.
Following their collegiate careers, they spent one year as assistant coaches for the West Virginia University Institute of Technology softball team and another year as assistant coaches for Capital HS.

No, there is no fee to try out. At FireStix, we believe that financial status should not prevent anyone from playing travel softball. Everyone is welcome to participate in tryouts.
Each player is required to pay a yearly Team Fee of $250. This fee is due within 30 days of accepting a spot on the team.
The yearly team fee covers essential expenses, including USA, USSSA, and Top Gun registrations, player insurance, field/facility rentals, and more.
The funds we receive from team fees are carefully budgeted to cover necessary expenses. Additional costs are managed through fundraising activities, ensuring all team needs are met.
We strive to fundraise 100% of these expenses. For the past two seasons, we have successfully covered all costs through fundraising, but this relies heavily on the efforts of both parents and players. Players must participate in fundraising activities to cover expenses such as uniforms, bat bags, helmets, tournament entry fees, and other related costs. If we do not raise enough funds to cover everything, parents may need to pay for specific items. Here’s an estimated breakdown of individual expenses:
-Boombah Superpack Rolling Custom Bat Bag: $140
-Boombah Batting Helmet with Face Mask: $60
-Two Custom Uniforms: $200
-Tournament Entry Fees: $500
-Total: $900
No fees, donations, or fundraised money will be refunded if a player withdraws from the team. However, if a player raises over $1,000, any amount exceeding $1,000 can be refunded up to $200 (equivalent to the initial Team Fee) at the conclusion of our last tournament.
We plan to participate in 3 fall tournaments and 7-8 summer tournaments for the 2024-2025 season. Tournament locations are TBD because we are waiting for tournaments to open. However, we plan on staying within 1 – 2 hours of Charleston, WV.
